User Equipment Types

User Equipment types are used to add any custom 3D shapes into the simulation.

Create a new User Equipment Type

  1. From the Project Explorer, Right Click on User Equipment TypesNew
  2. In the Property Editor, click on Select Model File and select the desired model (3ds or obj).
  3. The imported model may be very large or very small. If the model is not immediately visible in the Property Panel, zoom in to locate the unit cube. The unit cube is 1x1x1m cube to help adjusting the size and position of the imported model.
  4. If required, split the model into parts. Each part color may then be set independently.
  5. Change the Scale attributes (typically 10, 100 or 0.1, 0.01 values) to scale the model to the desired size.
  6. Change the Offset/angles as desired using the unit cube as reference
  7. Change the name

Using new User equipment

Once created, a custom type is added in the toolbox at the end of the list. From the ToolBox simply drag and drop the custom equipment directly in the simulation.

 

User Equipment Properties

X Offset: Apply an X offset from the unit cube in metres.

Y Offset: Apply an Y offset from the unit cube in metres.

Z Offset: Apply an Z offset from the unit cube in metres.

Direction: Default 0. Set a direction angle in degrees for the User Equipment

Tilt: Default 0. Set a tilt angle in degrees for the User Equipment

Roll: Default 0. Set a roll angle in degrees for the User Equipment

Scale X: Scale X dimension of the User Equipment.

Scale Y: Scale Y dimension of the User Equipment.

Scale Z: Scale Z dimension of the User Equipment.

Texture: Press Browse to open an image selection dialogue and select a texture image to wrap around the equipment.
